David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo call for better future for Syrian children

Two football legends have joined the call for action to avoid the children of Syria becoming a lost generation.

David Beckham, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy star, appears in a new video for UNICEF.

Beckham said: “As a father and UNICEF ambassador I can’t believe an entire generation of Syrian children is at risk since the conflict began three years ago.”

He added: “Too many have been forced to flee their homes, forced to work, forced to drop out of school. They are being denied their childhood chance to play, laugh and learn.”

Real Madrid striker Ronaldo, who like Beckham also played for Manchester United, showed his support for the children of Syria on his Facebook page.

As the conflict enters its fourth year, Ronaldo has teamed up with Save The Children and his Facebook post has been shared more than half a million times.

You can support the children of Syria by signing the Champion The Children of Syria petition, donating to the Education For Better Fund and backing our plan to get 400,000 Syrian refugee children back to school and learning.
