Global Youth Ambassadors

Musa Olatunji, Theirworld's Outstanding Global Youth Ambassador of 2018, has a farewell message after serving as an advocate for education.

My name is Musa Olatunji. I am a leadership coach, author, speaker, trainer, business strategist, accountant, content developer, nation builder and connector, award-winner and a global influencer who advocates for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 and the Africa Agenda 2063.

I hail from Abeokuta North in Ogun State but was born and bred in Lagos, Nigeria, where I grew up with my family and friends in an environment where you have to struggle to get what you want or else the society will knock you down.

Many parents preferred their children to hawk goods during school hours to support their family. Some didn’t value education and those that did value it didn’t have the resources to send their children to school.

I knew what I wanted and pursued it with full energy. I really didn’t know how important education was but I drew strength from watching great people on my father’s black and white television.

My parents, family and friends support made me promise to always advocate for quality education because many children in my community and the world are not privileged.

My mission is to have a society where every child has access to quality education irrespective of their background – and discovering youth’s potential through a developmental approach that will deploy the greatness in them because they deserve M.O.R.E. These memories propels me to be M.O.R.E. (Making myself Occupied and Relevant in the Environment) from childhood for the benefit of humanity.

In October 2017, I was selected as a Global Youth Ambassador by Theirworld – representing Nigeria to keep advocating for quality education within and outside my country. In June 2019, I stepped down as a Global Youth Ambassador but will continue the journey of doing M.O.R.E. for humanity, especially on education.

My impact with Theirworld

#WriteTheWrong – joining the campaign to promote awareness of the 262 million children and youth out of school.

#SafeSchools – spotlighting the need for children to be able to learn free from fear, attacks and other dangers.

#YouPromised – ensuring pledges to get every Syrian refugee child into school are kept.

#5for5 – campaigning for greater investment in early childhood development, especially pre-primary education globally.

#FellowGYAProjects – I have facilitated, partnered, volunteered my skills and resources with fellow Global Youth Ambassadors from different countries, and contributed to their various projects which have impacted over 10,000 lives.

I am the Lead Consultant of BeMORE Global Consulting and Co-Founder/Executive Director of MORE Global Foundation – that was started in the year 2017 by some fellow Global Youth Ambassadors and promises to be in the forefront of promoting education, health, leadership, youth, community and global development. It operates in Nigeria and Tanzania while working towards expanding across other African countries by 2035.

My message to Theirworld and fellow Global Youth Ambassadors

Volunteering is what gives me fulfilment and I am glad our paths crossed because in 2017 I joined this passionate, productive and proactive young leaders family who are championing causes (most especially on education). I have gained a lot but most importantly a family across the 90 countries where Theirworld have fellow GYAs.

I will continue using my voice for the voiceless globally – most especially on education and youth empowerments – and will enjoin you all to keep doing the same because service to humanity is everyone’s responsibility. Special thanks to Theirworld for the rare opportunity given to me to do this.

My message to the world

Your purpose on earth is to serve humanity in any capacity you can, so find your purpose and your why. Then watch how your life will keep transforming positively when you serve passionately.

Let’s keep doing M.O.R.E. for humanity globally.
