About the role
As our organisation continues to grow, we are seeking a new addition to our communications team to help us tell the stories of our projects, campaigns, youth campaigners and the broader work of our organisation. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day content calendar and help to source, produce, edit, schedule and publish content on our website and for use throughout our various communications channels and platforms.
The role will place a premium on telling stories from diverse perspectives in creative ways and reaching diverse networks of supporters spanning geography, demographics and cultures. The successful candidate will be able to empower our project partners, youth campaigners and young people themselves who are on the frontlines of ending the global education crisis.
The content manager/producer’s role will be to cultivate content consistent with Theirworld’s brand identity and build our presence online. This job involves:
Working with the communications team, managing the content calendar and scheduling diverse content (new articles, videos, interviews, audio, photo essays, etc.)
Working with consultants, including writers, videographers, and photographers to source content for publication
Adhere to guidelines on informed consent and proper archiving of any photographic or video content
Tell the story of Theirworld through the lens of diverse perspectives, including project partners, children and youth seeking an education, and youth campaigners working to end the global education crisis
Produce diverse content for use on the website and for use on other platforms
Edit stories, interviews, essays and opinion pieces by our partners while maintaining the authenticity of diverse writers
Publish content on the website
Create resources for consultants to help collect stories and content in countries where our projects operate
Seek third-party publications (e.g., blogs, websites, news outlets) to promote original Theirworld content
Find creative ways to convey information and tell the story of Theirworld while adhering to brand guidelines
Work with diverse networks of partners, content creators and producers to expand Theirworld’s footprint
Fine-tune Theirworld’s external voice by placing youth, program participants and project partners at the centre of the content narrative.

Experience, skills and character
You should have:
At least 3-5 years of experience in content production
Excellent writing and copy-editing skills
Ability to schedule content and adhere to deadlines
Strict attention to detail, accuracy and adhering to consent protocols
Strong interpersonal skills allowing you to work with a diverse network of partners, spanning youth, project partners and program participants from various backgrounds, countries and cultures
Experience telling stories which highlighting the voices of diverse individuals (e.g., geography, backgrounds and cultures), particularly youth in marginalised and underserved communities
Experience working with young people and project partners spanning various countries and time zones
Ability to develop a strong, recognisable tone in our content production while adhering to brand guidelines
Ability to work with consultants delivering content for publication, including writers, photographers, videographers, programme participants, project partners and others
Experience producing content for websites, newsletters, and other digital platforms
Creative approach to content, spanning writing, audio, video, interviews and other formats
Ability to plan and adhere to schedules yet remain flexible and adapt to current events and new developments
Proven record of creating effective content for specific audiences and meeting deadlines
Ability to seek third-party coverage for original content on websites, blogs, news sites, and other outlets
Ideas to brighten up our content on social media, the website and newsletters.
Creative thinking skills and the ability to contribute and express ideas, and the ability to identify and exploit opportunities.
Determined, enthusiastic and proactive ‘can do’ attitude
Strong time management skills, ability to juggle several tasks simultaneously and willingness to see a job through
Ability to get on with people at all levels of the organisation
Proficiency in Adobe in particular InDesign, Premier Pro, and Illustrator and excellent other IT and data management skills, including Microsoft Office
Ability to quickly pick-up new software and communications tools and keep colleagues abreast of relevant and useful developments in the field
Starting from £38,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
