Over one third of the 15,000 people in the refugee camps in the Greek Aegean Islands are children, and fewer than 15 per cent have any form of education.

With the percentage of refugee out-of-school population in the islands higher than any other country on the planet – and international support wavering for refugee children –  Theirworld is directly supporting a humanitarian first response for education.

With the support of the Dutch Postcode Lottery, Theirworld is working with the Education Cannot Wait fund to provide a large-scale education programming to approximately 6,000 out-of-school children and youth and invest in innovative pilot programs to bring additional support to the refugee children.

The project will launch in summer 2019.
