This week the Dutch Postcode Lottery has awarded a grant to Theirworld for our work with Syrian child refugees in Lebanon.

The funds will support our work getting Syrian child refugees into school. Since the outbreak of the conflict 500,000 children have fled their homes and sought refuge in neighbouring Lebanon. While 40 per cent of them have been taken into the Lebanese education system—with teachers working in double-shifts—300,000 children are still without an education.

Planning and Partnerships Director, Christianne Cavaliere, and Fundraising Director, Konrad Caulkett, were on hand to receive the grant from Daan Peters at the annual Dutch Postcode Lottery Charity Gala in Amsterdam.

The Dutch Postcode Lottery has been supporting non-governmental organisations (NGOs) since 1989 and gives half of its annual turnover to charity. Since its founding it has given over €4.4 billion to NGOs, with €312 million being distributed in 2015 alone.
