Stand up for kids who haven’t mastered standing themselves
The first five years of your life has everything to do with who you become as an adult. 90% of the brain develops while you’re still scared of the dark, so those 0 - 5 years are pretty important.
Theirworld’s global #5for5 campaign is all about those early years. It’s focused on the importance of nurturing care including health, nutrition, learning, play and protection, so by the time you reach five, you’re well on the way to being pretty awesome.
Unfortunately not every child is lucky enough to have access to this kind of support. Especially kids from poorer and marginalised households around the world, unable to access the support and care they need are put at a disadvantage. Which means they are often already behind by the time they start school.
So even though the benefits of early years care has been thoroughly proven, not all governments are making it a priority.
And that’s where you come in. Can you spare five seconds to support our campaign. The first step is to sign the petition.
Early interventions provide the best chance to level the playing field and close ability gaps early on, giving each child an equal chance at success, no matter who they are or where they are born.
Making sure kids get time to talk to their toys has never been so important.
The petitionBy the end of 2017 world leaders must allocate the funds needed to establish quality early childhood development programmes so that every child is given the best start in life.
90% of brain development happens before the age of five. Help us raise awareness of early childhood development and put pressure on world leaders to make sure all children have access to quality care including nutrition, health, learning, play and protection.
