Madrasa Early Childhood Programme

MECP-K aims is to promote inclusive and equitable early childhood development care and services for children aged 0-8 from marginalized communities in Kenya to have a best start in life. By working collaboratively with local communities, frontline ECD workers, governments, and other stakeholders, MECP-K aims to increase access to high-quality ECD care and services to ensure children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social needs are nurtured and supported.

This is achieved through community and family engagement, health system strengthening, ECD teacher professional development and creating inclusive learning environments. The innovation is human centred, involving communities and families in identifying the needs of young children and actively participating in the design and implementation of the solution.
