Giving Tuesday is an international day of donating, volunteering and other forms of giving.
Even before Covid-19, almost 260 million children around the world were not in school. Of those, 75 million had their education interrupted by conflicts and emergencies.
Education is the key to making our world healthier, greener, fairer and wealthier.
When a mother can read, her children are 50% more likely to live past the age of five, twice as likely to attend school and 50% more likely to be immunised. Education also prevents children from falling into child labour, early marriage, sexual exploitation and other dangerous environments.
