Gordon Brown speaks on BBC News about the Children of Syria
UN special envoy for education Gordon Brown has spoken about a new plan to provide education for Syrian child refugees who have fled to Lebanon.
Mr Brown told the BBC that 400,000 children could be back in school in a matter of weeks if funding is raised for the project.
Instead of having to build new camp schools for refugees, exiled Syrian children will use existing Lebanese schools on a two-shift system, offering education to Syrian children outside normal school hours.
“We need to give these children the possibility, the prospect, that they have a good future,” he said.
