One million people in Pakistan have signed the #UpForSchool petition, thanks to Idara-ethan-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA).

ITA was one of the organisations who together pledged to collect 17 million signatures when the petition was launched at the United Nations General Assembly last September, calling on world leaders to fulfill their promise of a quality education for all by the end of 2015.

Baela Raza Jamil, Director of Programmes at ITA, said she joined the movement to “mirror earlier zeal across the country to illustrate people’s resolve for education of large numbers of out-of-school children”. ITA are now working to meet their goal of three million signatures in total.
