Youth leaders advocate for increased funding for education in Kenya

Youth leadership in Africa and around the world has never been more important. As this summit shows, young people are the driving force for change in their communities and beyond. However, to fully unlock the potential of the next generation, every young person must have the best start in life and access to quality education.

Justin van Fleet, President of Theirworld

On 5th February 2025, Theirworld hosted the Theirworld Young Leaders in Education Summit for over 100 Theirworld Global Youth Ambassadors in Nairobi. Following this, on 7th February, Theirworld representatives travelled to Kwale to meet with local leaders and Kwale’s Governor, H.E. Fatuma Achani, to discuss Theirworld’s regional work to increase the provision of Early Childhood Development resources.

As part of Theirworld’s growing presence in Africa, Theirworld undertook its first major media engagement in Kenya. Through strategic press outreach, thought leadership and journalist engagement, we amplified our mission and brought attention to the importance of early childhood education. This resulted in Theirworld being featured in 10 national news outlets including Citizen TV, KBC, The Star and The Standard.
