Blooming Buds, with Jeeva Jyothi

Very few children in Chennai’s urban slums go to school. Many are forced to work and beg on the streets to support their families.

Jeeva Jyothi will deliver early childhood education to children living in India’s slums in Chennai, southeast India, and the rural villages in the Sholavaram block, further south. At three informal early childhood development centres, children aged two to six will have the opportunity to learn and play with toys and musical instruments. It is hoped that the project will instil in the children a love of learning, encouraging them to stay in school.
