Hatua Kenya e-learning pilot, with Hatua

We work to help young people develop Skills for the future

About the project

Context

Many students from low-income families in Kenya drop out of school after primary school. Even those who complete high school often lack opportunities to develop the professional skills needed to succeed in the workplace such as problem solving, teamwork, emotional intelligence and communication.

Approach

Hatua is working to address this problem by creating a mentoring programme focused on cultivating the professional skills needed in the workplace. The partnership with Theirworld will allow them to develop the curriculum of its e-learning programme and pilot it with 100 students. In addition, they will also provide career coaching to alumni focused on identifying career opportunities, drafting job applications and preparing for interviews.

Impact

With Theirworld’s support, Hatua will develop and pilot an e-learning career development programme for over 100 students.
