Event Overview

As Theirworld prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary, we invite you to meet some of the young people from around the world who are committed to ensuring every child has the best start in life, a safe place to learn, and skills for the future.

At a time of rapid technological change, conflict, shrinking global aid budgets, and competing domestic priorities, this reception will feature stories from Theirworld Global Youth Ambassadors and our partners revealing the hope and positivity that come from working together in communities worldwide to ensure every child has the chance to learn, thrive, and build a better tomorrow.

During the reception, we will launch the second edition of  The Education Issue – a newspaper spotlighting the education challenges, innovations and opportunities in communities around the world – and invite guests to interact with youth journalists and their stories.

Please note while this is not a seated dinner, there will be food and beverage available.

High-Level Security & Registration Requirements

During UNGA 2026 Week (20-24 September 2026) Theirworld will host several high-level events at 599 Lexington Avenue, New York.

Only pre-registered and accredited guests will be allowed to enter the venue. All team and delegation members, including support staff, security personnel, translators, photographers, assistants and drivers, must be registered by name at least five days before the event date. Please send full names exactly as they appear on the government-issued photo ID that will be presented at the building.

Names cannot be added on the day of the event. Anyone not on the building security list will not be admitted. For events with limited capacity, registered support staff will be directed to a secondary staff room to wait for their principals.

Accompanying Guests

Invitations are strictly non-transferable. Accompanying guests are restricted and must be registered in advance.

Where an event allows a principal to be accompanied by one staff member, this will be confirmed in the invitation or by the event contact. Space may not permit every principal to be accommodated, and a holding area will be available where a room reaches capacity.

Attending More Than One Event

Guests attending multiple meetings in our office on the same day must RSVP for each event separately but will only need to check in once. All accreditations are timed, and guests may be asked to leave once all their events are complete.

Advance Security Visits

Security teams that would like to conduct advance visits can contact Anna Shakarova at anna@theirworld.org to schedule a time.

Venue Access & Waiting Area

Guests should enter 599 Lexington Ave. from the corner of E 53rd Street and proceed to the check-in desk with a valid picture ID. Guests must check in in person; no one can check in on behalf of a colleague.

Due to strict security protocols, those without pre-registration will be asked to leave the building lobby. Delegation members without registration can wait for their principals and teams at the restaurants and public seating areas at “The Hugh” across the street on East 53rd Street.

Check-In Times

All attendees are encouraged to check in at least 15 minutes before their event’s start time. The check-in desk will be located in the lobby of 599 Lexington Avenue and will open 45 minutes before each event.

Media & Photography

Media access, including staff photographers, is granted by prior accreditation only. Some events are closed to the media entirely.

The Theirworld team will take professional photography and distribute it to all attendees and interested media outlets post-event. For all media inquiries, please get in touch with media@theirworld.org.
