Who We Are

We are a global children’s charity committed to ending the global education crisis and unleashing the potential of the next generation.

Our mission is to ensure that every child has the best start in life, a safe place to learn, and skills for the future.

We achieve our mission by combining the power of campaigning, policy, and innovative projects, to create change from the top-down and bottom-up. We anticipate, target, and solve the complex barriers keeping children and youth from education and opportunity.

Informed by breakthrough research and activated by our influential network of next generation partners, we work with youth, governments, businesses, NGOS and campaigners to develop and deploy solutions to unleash the potential of the next generation.

Our origins

Founded in 2002 by Sarah Brown, Theirworld has grown into a successful non-profit organisation that works passionately to ensure children are given the best opportunities in life.  The first project, the Jennifer Brown Research Laboratory at the University of Edinburgh, continues today, doing live-saving work to discover the causes of babies being born early, finding better ways to care for them - and save lives.

In 2013, Theirworld became international in its outlook and reach, seeking to reach the most marginalised children and youth with sustainable and scalable change.
