10 best goals from the Street Child World Cup
The World Cup in Brazil is being celebrated as one of the best ever – but did score a goal as good as those seen at the Street Child World Cup?
The event in Rio DeJaneiro featured more than 230 former street children from 19 countries to highlight the fact that millions of children across the world live and work on the streets.
These boys and girls miss out on basic education, health care and safe homes and are at risk of violence, abuse and exploitation. The Street Child World Cup, in association with Save the Children, is a global movement for street children to receive the protection, rehabilitation and opportunities to which all children are entitled.
Over 10 days in April, hundreds of goals were scored at the 2014 tournament. Supporters were asked to choose their favourite 10 goals – and now the organisers want everyone to pick the best goal of the Street Child World Cup.
