Statement by Theirworld President on Uganda school attack

We strongly condemn the attacks on the school children by a rebel group in Western Uganda near the border of the DRC last evening. The murder and abduction of innocent young girls and boys is unconscionable.

Our thoughts are with the community and families of those affected by these horrific acts and we hope the people responsible are quickly brought to justice. Every child deserves a safe place to learn, free of fear and violence, and the full opportunity to reach his or her full potential. We must double-down on our efforts to make sure schools are safe places for learning.
