“The 59 Million Children the MDGs Did Not Reach”: Sarah Brown writes for the Huffington Post

Theirworld President Sarah Brown has written a blog for the Huffington Post calling on greater cooperation to deliver education for the 59 million children currently out of school.

The Millennium Development Goals were agreed in 2000, with UN countries pledging to ensure a primary education for every child by the end of 2015. Yet as that deadline approaches 59 million children are not in school.

Sarah writes:

“We have to bring groups together to work on the goal of getting all children into education — the public and private sectors, youth, faith and civil-society groups and governments must join hands. Energy and goodwill without cooperation will not be enough. Some of this is happening, and the rest is all possible.”
