About

Too many children with disabilities and additional learning needs go unnoticed in the classroom, meaning they miss out on the support that could help them thrive.

Chance for Childhood’s Disability Detect App gives teachers a simple digital tool to identify signs of disability, communication disorders and special educational needs in children aged three to eight.

The app helps teachers recognise potential barriers to learning and refer children for assessment through local health services. Combined with teacher training, inclusive education models and community support, the project helps schools respond more effectively to children’s individual needs.

By improving early identification and support, Disability Detect is helping more children access the education they deserve and reach their full potential.
