Crisis in the Middle East: a call to action for children and youth

Delivered in partnership with the Palestinian Early Childhood Education Program, Theirworld opened 12 early learning centres across two locations in Gaza in response to the severe early childhood development crisis affecting the region’s youngest children. The initiative is made possible thanks to the generous support of the El-Erian Family Foundation.

Theirworld’s partnership with the Ajyal Foundation is providing safe places to learn through Teaching with Care, a project that supports both education and the emotional wellbeing of children affected by trauma.

In Israel, Theirworld supports Givat Haviva’s Children Teaching Children (CTC) programme, a model for peace education in the region. For over three decades, Children Teaching Children has brought together Arab and Jewish middle school students – who live side by side yet rarely meet – giving them the courage to confront prejudice and learn together.

We’re working alongside the Lebanese Alternative Learning (LAL) to address the challenges of children learning in crisis affected areas. Together, we’ve created Alternative Learning Spaces in two communities, Dhour Choueir and Zahle.
