About Gordon
Gordon Brown serves as the United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education, mobilizing political will and innovative financing to get every child into school. A former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (2007 to 2010) and Chancellor of the Exchequer (1997 to 2007), he chaired the Commission that led to the creation of the International Finance Facility for Education and chaired Education Cannot Wait’s High-Level Steering Group from 2016 to 2024, during which the fund raised $2.8 billion for children in crisis-affected countries.
