The El-Erian Family Foundation

Anna and Mohamed El-Erian have announced a high-impact gift of $1 million to Theirworld from the El-Erian Family Foundation to advance children’s education worldwide through innovation and supporting young people affected by war.

The foundation’s support will allow Theirworld to invest in scale-ready projects through the Theirworld Education Innovation Awards, welcoming 10 new organisations into the programme to receive mentoring, masterclasses and project support. The foundation will also provide trauma-informed learning and early years support for children affected by the war in Gaza.

The El-Erians have also designated 20% of their gift as flexible, in the true spirit of their trust in Theirworld and our team. This allows us to respond to emerging opportunities with great potential to help more children recover, learn and thrive.

We are appreciative of the El-Erian Family Foundation – not only for its financial contribution but also for Anna and Mohamed’s personal commitment to lending their voices, time and leadership to addressing the global education crisis with Theirworld.

Their impact will be felt for generations to come.

We recognise the crucial role that education plays in transforming the lives of young people. By supporting Theirworld, we hope to positively impact the lives of children in the most difficult places to reach – and leveraging technology and innovation to make quality education even more accessible to many.
